During China’s “Twelfth Five-year Plan” period, various support policies will broaden the application of plastics in various industries.
In the aspect of water conservancy, an investment of annual average RMB 400 billion coupled with the continued urbanization, plastic pipes and building materials shall see a large demand, the related extrusion machines, injection molding machines and tooling will benefit as well; in automotive industry, the trend of energy conservation, emission reduction and replacement of metal by plastics shall promote a rapid development of new energy vehicles. Plastic parts will continue to replace other materials. In 2013, while the automotive industry enjoyed a 13% growth, 2014 and 2015 will likely be even stronger- with growth rate expected to exceed 20%. In energy sector, China’s “Twelfth Five-year” Plan promotes the strategic position of renewable energy; photovoltaic technology will benefit from the policy and gain sustainable momentum. The green policy will be conducive to the industry development of waste rubber recycling.
In addition, the health care industry has seen an increased investment in high-tech due to the policy support. The goal of the policy is to create 50-80 priority projects which give rise to medical devices for disease prevention, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and first aid, focusing on those clinical areas of high demand, broad applications and supporting the goal of import substitution. The policy will facilitate the development of a high-end medical plastic industry in China.
