The R & D centre of Kailuan Coal Chemical Industry recently received patents for its applied high CTI halogen-free polyacetal flame retardant composite material and its production process.

An object made of acetal on fire is often difficult to extinguish. It releases formaldehyde gas which supports the burning and makes it difficult to carbonize. It is one of the most difficult polymers in terms of fire control. This patented product solves the problem of formulating a halogen-free flame retardant acetal, uncovers its flame-retardant mechanism. The specially formulated acetal is halogen-free, has a high rating in Comparative Tracking Index test (CTI), high flame retardance and good mechanical properties.
