Germany company Bayer AG may intended to sell the its Material Science plastic business Divisiondepartment with value offor 10 billion dollars and will focused on its healthcare businessmedical care, Bloomberg News reported in the afternoon of April 28 (Beijing time), citing sources familiar with the situation.

It was reported that Bayer AG was considering selling its subordinate Material Science Companythe division to Evonik Industries AG. The latter companyEvonik showed interest in the trade deal a couple of months ago but had not made a final decision yet.

Bayer AG is the largest pharmaceuticals company in Germany. Last Friday, Bayer AG downgraded its the outlook on its mMaterial sScience business Company for the core revenue of the latter one after its revenue dropped by was down more than 25%. Bayer Material Science Company produces transparent materials for sports protective eyewear, DVD and automotive lightings etc.

The transparent material Makrolon is the patented product of Bayer AG. It faces severe challenge of over-supply from its global competition, particularly after the Middle East competitors expanded their capacitiesis in liberal supply in the globe because the Mid East competitors with low cost expanded their production base..
