Shanghai, August 17th, 2016 – First Foundation (HK) Ltd. held an opening ceremony for its Shanghai plant on August 8th, 2016.   The event that took place at the plant was attended by First Foundation’s management team and the delegates from the company’s long time partners in China market, Eastman Chemical and Ascend Performance Materials.   First Foundation has been distributing a number of renowned engineering plastic materials in China including the copolyesters from Eastman and nylons from Ascend.

 

Randy Beavers, Regional Business Director, Asia Pacific and Global Sales Director, Eastman Chemical China Co. Ltd. acknowledged that the investment in First Foundation’s new drying capability will help them serve the growing need for Copolyester resins, especially Tritan™ Copolyester in the China market.  Eastman is grateful to First Foundation for their long time support to identify, develop and close new business in the China market for Eastman products.  

 

The new plant is located at FengXian, Shanghai, with more than double the footprint of the previous plant.  It produces modified PMMA, modified PA, PC-ABS, and modified POM under the NewMat^® brand.  It also produces a wide range of TPE/TPR with various hardnesses including the grades which meet the regulatory requirements of overseas market.  The products made in the new plant are all developed by the R&D team from the ZhiJin plant in Hong Kong, a subsidiary of First Foundation.  “ The products were specially formulated for the China market, “ said Roger Tang, President of First Foundation,  “ The production and quality assurance processes of our Shanghai plant follow the same high standards from ZhiJin Hong Kong plant.  Keeping up with high quality standards is a must to maintain customer confidence.”
